Facing the Unexpected
Have you ever had the clarity of where you were headed and soon after faced unforeseen circumstances?
It is always different than it appears. Life throws it’s various curveballs, shattering any and every one of your expectations along the way. We’ve all experienced this countless times in our life. However, the unforeseen circumstances came because we thought we knew what was going to happen. We projected a future that was fixed, but life in it’s ever-flowing nature has plans beyond our ideals.
It’s certainly helpful to envision an ideal future, but where we find the challenge is holding tightly to our vision. When we have our grip on a desired outcome we don’t allow space for the magic of life. The potential of your life is far beyond what your mind can create and if you don’t leave room for this potential it will never manifest. This takes a soft surrender, though. The twists and turns of life will take you down many unexpected routes. You will eventually end up getting exactly what you wanted (and most likely more) but it won’t be in the way you envisioned getting it.
Along the way there, the unexpected circumstances bring life lessons. It only makes sense that a potential you envision can only be manifested through growth. Life is set up in this way. The unforeseen challenges, setbacks, misunderstandings, and surprises are the lessons along the way to help you to grow enough to actually be able to receive your desired outcome.
Given this, you must be resilient in the quest to actualize your dreams. There must be a willingness in your heart, which comes with an incredible amount of devotion to your dream, to be able to stand strong in the most adverse circumstances. Odds are the bigger the dream, the more obstacles, or looking through a positive lens, growth opportunities. If you allow the setbacks to get to you, you may never actualize your dream.
In a way, the challenges can be an opportunity for you to reaffirm and further declare what you want to create in your life. Moreover, these instances can actually be used as a tool to clarify your vision. Maybe you were limited in the possibilities that you had envisioned before and the challenge opens doors for you to see a more expansive reality. Maybe the challenge is a test that allows you to further affirm ¨I am worth my dreams!¨ and therefore you are able to actually receive them fully. There are many different ways you can look at what seem to be obstacles on your path to actualization and that’s the beauty, it’s how you perceive the messages of life.
Listening will help you in discerning whether the obstacle in your path is a chance to pivot to a greater vision, which is where the openness and surrender comes in, or the opportunity to reaffirm your vision. Either way, clarity is the outcome.
So, can you tune your ear to the language of life? We are all learning this language and it’s quite complicated at times to decipher, but it’s undoubtedly here. Once you establish clarity with how to read the ‘Book of Life’ and speak it’s language in the moment, it will be apparent what the message is. This requires an inner listening. The heart speaks in a profound way that will allow you to see effortlessly.
When life gets shaky and things become unclear, what tools do you have to bring you back to hearing the heart speak? It’s important to have ways that you can bring yourself back to what was clear before. The unexpected circumstances you face will surely bring doubt and therefore ambiguity to what was before a crystal clear vision. Your commitment is not to the fixed vision that had prior clarity, but to understanding. Because if you’re committed to understanding then you will be able to see clearly why things have shifted in the way they have and modify the vision accordingly.
In this way, you can stay fluid with life and your desired outcomes become living entities. They change shape and form many times, but their essence remains the same. More importantly, the feeling of actualizing them, which can be felt in this moment not some time far off in the future, is the same. Therefore, we can say that the heart is speaking through a feeling and if you can find coherence with that feeling the actualization of your vision becomes secondary.
How? Because in reality the feeling of actualizing your ideal future, soul’s calling, or biggest dream is what you actually want. The materialization of these things is what reflects a good feeling, but what if you could collapse time by making the acknowledgement of what feels good a priority. So, you don’t have to wait for something to materialize to feel the joy that the vision was born out of. It’s not then, it’s NOW. Inspiration is both a means and an end.
To bring this full circle, an obstacle on your path to actualize some potential can be seen as a godsend. It allows you to let go of the materialization of a fixed outcome and turn back towards the heart, which draws the focus in the direction of what felt good about your vision in the first place. The obstacle gives you an opportunity to presence a feeling that is with you regardless if your ideal is created in the way you see it or not.
You will inevitably get exactly what you want if you have the willingness to stick with the good feeling through all the unforeseen conundrums life will bring your way. It may not show up in the way that you imagine it in your mind, but it’s coming and I can bet you it’s much better.
